Face Slimming

Facial slimming is a popular procedure among women concerned about the fullness of their jawline and lower face.Face slimming also known as masseter slimming or jawline slimming is desirable by patients who want to achieve a slimmer and more feminine face shape with a more petite and narrow jawline. Face slimming is particularly popular among our Asian patients who like V shaped face.

A large percent of our patients undergo facial slimming injections to help with teeth grinding (bruxism). Targeted injections of muscle relaxant into the masseter muscle (these muscles sit at the back of the jaw and are predominantly responsible for teeth grinding) causes a controlled weakening, resulting in less grinding, and a slimmer face.

Lower facial slimming injections into Masseter Muscle can also be used to treat a variety of other concerns like relieving headaches associated with jawline clenching, ceasing teeth grinding, and wearing down of your dentition, relieving symptoms of TMJ/orofacial pain syndromes.

Most people are suitable for masseters, however if too large a dose is chosen in an older patient (ie 40 and over), then the skin isn’t as able to retract as quickly and sagging along the jawline can appear to worsen. To avoid this, multiple smaller treatments are recommended to achieve the result more slowly.

Patients may start to notice a slimmer face from about 4 weeks, but this will continue to increase until the 8 week point.

The maximal effect of the drug will be at 8 weeks, so a review should not be booked before 8 weeks. If at that time, further treatment is necessary, it should be performed.

Results typically last about 3-4 months

What should I expect during treatment?

Your injector may apply anaesthetic cream or ice to reduce discomfort. Jawline Slimming treatment consists of a small number of tiny injections and will cause a minimum of discomfort. The procedure will not take more than a few minutes, and the pain level is low.

Is There Downtime With Face Slimming ?

Any swelling, bruising or tenderness should subside within 48h. You can see results within a week, but some people may not notice improvements until a month later.
